ABOUT US
IOWA LAND MANAGEMENT YOU CAN TRUST
At Iowa Forest & Prairie, we're dedicated to providing natural resource–focused land management services that restore, enhance, and protect the land.​

Our recent growth has been almost entirely grass-roots and spread by word of mouth. It turns out that most folks interested in prairie tend to have friends or other people they know that have prairie too. We are grateful to be a part of this tight-knit community.
YEARS OF EXPERIENCE
I have a bachelor's degree from Upper Iowa University in Conservation Management. From 2020-2025 I worked full-time at Kirkwood Community College for their Parks and Natural Resources program as a Lab Technician and Instructor. I have since gone full-time on my own land-management ventures, however I continue to teach for Kirkwood on a contractual basis to help train the next generation of land stewards.​​

With my time at Kirkwood, I was responsible not only for managing 800+ acres of natural lands, but also providing hands-on training to students including chainsaw work, equipment operations, conducting prescribed fires, drone and GIS mapping & software applications - and more!​​
Over the years I have built a strong network of incredible people that work in organizations such as the Iowa DNR, County Conservation Systems, USACE, The Nature Conservency, and more that help bring added expertise and credibility to every project.​
DEDICATED TO RESULTS
More recently I have taken responsibility for the management of many private lands - primarily located throughout Linn and Johnson county. Each property is unique and requires its own prescription to improve it in the best way possible to match the goals of the landowner. This recent work has kept me busy to say the least!

We are dedicated to delivering measurable, lasting results through thoughtful, science-guided land management. Every project begins with a site visit to assess the landscape, then a clear strategy is agreed upon and is carried out with the right equipment, proven techniques, and a commitment to doing the job right the first time. From prairie restoration and timber stand improvement to forestry mulching and prescribed fire, our goal is to create healthier, more resilient landscapes that continue to improve for years to come.

Our clients have lands of all different shapes and sizes. We provide services no matter how large or small.
From 1/4 acre backyard prairie gardens to 40+ acre CRP fields, we have the maintenance solution for you.

Some of our clients have us complete 1 or 2 simple projects for them each year, whilst others have requested our
services for the entirety of their maintenance and management needs year-round.
